Drain Clog Removal

One slow drain is usually simple. The same drain closing every few months is a different conversation.

Heavily corroded pipework exposed through a ceiling access opening
Corroded lines exposed through a ceiling opening

Most clogs are grease, soap, hair, or roots working into a line over time. We start with the least invasive method that will actually solve it and tell you when a quick cable-through will not hold.

If a line closes on a schedule, that is usually structural rather than a cleaning problem — a bellied section holding water, a break, or roots at a joint. Clearing it repeatedly is a subscription, not a repair. A camera answers it, and we will show you the footage.

One caution specific to older Tampa homes: cast iron that has corroded thin can be damaged by full-pressure jetting. We camera lines of unknown condition before pressurising them rather than finding out the hard way.

Symptoms

When this is likely your problem

The same drain clogging again within weeks or months
Several fixtures backing up at once
Gurgling from one fixture when another drains
Sewage odour near a floor drain or cleanout
Slow drainage across the whole house

What's included — and what isn't

Included in the quote

  • Assessment of which line and how many fixtures are affected
  • Mechanical cabling of the affected line
  • Hydro jetting where buildup needs the pipe wall scoured
  • Camera inspection first on older or unknown pipe
  • Flush test to confirm flow

Quoted separately

  • Camera inspection run as a standalone diagnostic
  • Repair of a break, belly, or collapse found during the work
  • Installing a cleanout where there is no safe access
  • Excavation and sewer replacement
  • Root treatment programmes

What drives the number

We quote after diagnosis, not before. These move the number most:

  • LINEA fixture branch, a stack, or the building sewer.
  • METHODCabling versus jetting, and whether a camera run is needed.
  • ACCESSWhether a usable cleanout exists.

Tampa note

Older Tampa neighbourhoods — Seminole Heights, Tampa Heights, parts of Hyde Park — commonly still have cast iron drain lines. If your house is from that era and the same drain keeps closing, the cause is more often the pipe than what is going down it.

Process

What the visit involves

Map the symptom

One fixture or several tells us branch versus main.

Clear it the right way

Cable where that solves it, jet where buildup is the cause.

Look if it repeats

On a recurring line we camera rather than clearing it again.

Confirm and report

Flush test, plus footage if we found something structural.

FAQ

Questions about this service

Is jetting safe on old cast iron?

Not always, and it is worth asking anyone who offers it. Sound pipe handles jetting well; cast iron that has thinned from the inside can be damaged. We camera pipe of unknown condition first and adjust or recommend another approach.

Why does the same drain keep clogging?

Because clearing a clog and fixing its cause are different things. If it returns within weeks, the usual reasons are grease coating the wall, a bellied section, or a break. A camera answers it definitively.

Should I use chemical drain cleaner?

Occasional enzyme products are fine. Caustic cleaners can damage older metal pipe and fixture seals and tend to mask a developing problem. If a drain needs chemicals regularly, it needs looking at.
